After School Club Play Leader

Contract start date: Monday 4th September 2017

Contract/Hours: Permanent, part-time

Salary Details: Grade 6 (£9.21 - £10.44 per hour)

Hours of work: 2.30pm – 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, term time only


Job/Person Summary

St Nicolas After School Club is offering an opportunity for an enthusiastic and caring person to join our school team in September, to run our successful after school child care facility.


The After School Club Leader will be required to manage the operation of the after school club for children aged 4 – 11, ensuring that they are cared for in a safe and nurturing environment and providing a variety of stimulating activities, both indoors and outdoors.


If you have enthusiasm & self-motivation and can lead & motivate others within the after school club team, we would love to hear from you. Ideally you will have First Aid & Food Hygiene qualifications or training will be provided. You will be responsible for the day to day administration and will carry out record keeping duties at the club.


The club leader will be responsible for upholding all school policies, particularly those relating to behaviour management, health and safety, child protection and safeguarding.


Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • planning and organising the day to day activities of the club
  • maintaining accurate registers of attendance
  • organising refreshments according to children’s dietary needs
  • setting up and clearing away at the start and end of each session
  • ensuring the safe collection of children at the end of each session
  • managing and ordering resources
  • ensuring safe storage of resources and equipment
