Welcome to what would have been SATs week - how different things are from the way we expected and planned for!
We hope you are all well.
It's great to see all the work that the children are submitting via Purple Mash and we've had a couple of pieces e-mailed - we always love to see the children's work and we love to keep in touch so please do keep in contact in whichever way is suitable for you and your child(ren).
See below for some more reading comprehensions to carry out.
Take care and keep in touch.
The Year 6 team
Friday 1st May 2020
Please find below 3 reading comprehensions which can be worked through in addition to the learn pack you have been provided with.
Each comprehension comprises of 3 texts and 3 sets of questions (and answers) each one getting progressively more challenging.
E.g. 'A hung parliament' has 3 texts and 3 sets of questions.
This means there are 9 comprehensions in total. We would suggest deciding which level of challenge is suitable and using that text and set of questions. We WOULDN'T suggest your child(ren) doing all three texts based on the same title.
We know it might be difficult to access these on the screen, however, you will see from the size of the resource it wasn't practical to print a set for each child.
We hope this all makes sense!

Thursday 30th April
Hello again everyone!
All the Year 6 staff are missing the children and families so much and send our best wishes to all of you!
The next learn pack will be available tomorrow and we hope there is something in there for everyone. We have attached some documents to support these and re-attached the spelling lists to support with the spelling activities in the first pack (see below).
We have e-mailed all the children via Purple Mash and we are looking forward to keeping in touch with them while this strange situation continues.
We obviously look forward to getting back to some kind of normal as soon as it's possible. Until then, continue to keep in touch and keep an eye on the links we will continue to add.
We are also going to make 3 reading comprehensions available each week for the next 3 weeks.
We hope you are all well and continue to stay safe!

Welcome back to Term 5 - not entirely in the normal way!
We hope you are all well and keeping safe.
Hopefully, you and your child(ren) have found some of the tasks and activities in their pack enjoyable and good to share.
The calculation policy and a document offering ideas for supporting numeracy at home are now on the website. Look at the main 'Class Pages' page - you'll find them at the bottom.
Below are some more links you might find useful.
The Jigsaw one in particular (thank you Ms Evans) will be useful to support general well-being in what is a confusing and difficult time for us all.
We wish you all well, take care and we hope to see you soon.

Sunday 29th March 2020:
The Year 6 team would like to send our love and best wishes to the children and their families at this time.
We will leave the links to educational websites on so please continue to use these. Please also see the uploaded documents providing investigations and activities.
There are some topic activities that should provide some revision for our current topic 'Blood Heart'. Ideally, the 'label the heart' should be completed first (the other activities will give the answers to this task).
We will update these regularly so you can continue to support your children at home and we will try to ensure that these are in the form of word documents where possible.
Please find below a list of helpful websites that can be used to support your child's learning at home.
Please see your child's homework book for their login.
This site is old and no longer updated and yet there's so much still available, from language learning to BBC Bitesize for revision. No TV licence required except for content on BBC iPlayer.
