We hope you have had a restful Easter. We have updated the list of websites and links below. We will continue to set additional things for children on Purple Mash and you should have received a Times Table Rock Stars log in with your learning pack.

From the 20th April, the BBC have daily lessons for literacy, maths and topic.
The Training Space – Super Sentence Stackers (Youtube)
Starting Mon 23rd March, Jane Considine will be delivering a series of English sessions via webinars for pupils, parents and teachers every weekday until the schools re-open. At 9.45am, she will announce the focus film of the day (a short animation). There will be a live webinar outlining the daily task at 10.30am. You can send these into Jane (by 2pm) and she will choose some to turn into a story (these will be announced at 3.30pm). You can access previous sessions via Youtube as well as watching live.

Most children will have visited Trinity Church in Year 3 for the Easter Experience. For those of you that would like to recreate the experience at home, Trinity Learning have produced an Easter Experience at home script that you can use.

Term 3 and 4
This term our topic is Frozen Kingdom.
In literacy, we are going to be using the book Shackleton's Journey by William Grill to learn about Shackleton's expedition to the Antarctic and finding out about the Titanic.
In science, we will be looking at how animals are adapted to their environment and materials and their properties.
In geography, we will be looking at the different polar regions and the characteristics of their extreme climates.
In music and art, we will look at the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis); we will create art work using chalk and oil pastels and a soundscape to depict the Northern Lights. We will also be learning about the significance of sea shanties and creating our own to accompany tasks in the classroom. We will also look at different colour tones to create abstract iceberg art. In Design and Technology, we will be making igloos out of different materials and exploring how these are constructed.
