Trips and Enrichment Days
At St Nicolas, we believe that rich experiences are an essential part of a successful curriculum. Through our NICS curriculum, we provide a wide variety of exciting, stimulating and challenging opportunities that bring learning to life and inspire children to discover more about themselves and the world around them.
Our trips, visits, visitors and enrichment days are carefully planned to complement and enhance classroom learning, with each experience having a clear curriculum purpose. We make the most of our local environment and community, helping children to make meaningful connections, understand their place in the world and broaden their experiences.
These opportunities develop the knowledge, skills, vocabulary, confidence and resilience children need to succeed, both now and in the future. They are an important part of our NICS journey: Navigate, Inspire, Challenge and Succeed.

School Residentials
At St Nicolas, we believe residential experiences are an important part of our children’s learning journey. They provide exciting opportunities for children to challenge themselves, develop independence and resilience, build confidence and strengthen friendships, while creating memories that will last a lifetime.
We offer two residential experiences, which we encourage all children to take part in:
- Year 4 – Youlbury: 1-night residential in the Autumn Term
- Year 6 – Kilvrough Manor: 4-night residential in the Autumn Term
Our residentials are carefully planned to provide progression in experience and challenge. The Year 4 residential gives children their first opportunity to experience time away from home, developing confidence and independence. By Year 6, children build on these skills through a longer residential, taking on greater challenges and responsibility as they prepare for the next stage of their learning journey.
