DNA Workshop- On Tuesday afternoon, we visited Abingdon School and enjoyed learning all about cells. We also got a chance to see some blood samples under the microscope. It was a brilliant trip!

We made some fake blood; we are now waiting for it to separate. When it does, we'll be able to see the different elements that make up our blood!

Topic- We dissected pigs' hearts to learn about the different components in our hearts. It was quite a learning experience!

Year 1 found a hedgehog and we had to see it!

Book Recommendations

Timmy Failure- Stephan Pastis

Timmy Failure is about a boy (who's American). He starts his own secret society but it only has him and his polar bear friend. He has big dreams and hopes to get a mansion. In his flat, he's got a secret room...

Éilis Spooner (Age 10)

Murder Most Unladylike - Robin Stevens

These books are exciting murder mysteries for nine-year-olds and over. They are action-packed thrillers that make you want to keep reading for hours. They are set in a variety of countries across the globe and the author is really nice! I got to meet her and learn about writing murder mysteries!

Hattie Watts (Age 10)

Educational Apps

I would love to be able to recommend some apps to help our class with their learning but my own knowledge is sadly lacking. If you know of any brilliant apps for Year 6 children, particularly if they are times table related, please let me know!

Hopefully, I'll be able to compile a list of recommendations for you all before the Easter break.

Welly Wanging- We are enjoying trying out different sports for Sport Relief. We had a welly wanging competition and loved it!

We learnt about dynamic balance and agility whilst playing Jump Ball. Mrs Sweeney was really impressed with how far we've come since Year 3!

We learnt all about George Mallory in Term 3. We wrote questions, completed a treasure hunt and met the man himself!

Inheritance. We used multilink to discover that Mendel's theory of inheritance was correct. We took different genes from each of parent and put them together to make a new person.
