Year 4 used junk modelling to make models of Italian Christmas cakes - panettone and pandoro. They were very creative with their designs and used a range of construction methods to create the shape of the cake.
On Tuesday 8th December we were very lucky to have a visit from Marta Tricklebank
(Mrs T from Year 6!) to learn all about the traditions of Christmas in Italy.
The children had a great time putting together a meal for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
Some children had a go at making models of Italian food - we will continue with this next week.
This term, our topic is 'I am Warrior!'
Roman Workshop - November 2015
Year 4 took part in a Roman workshop and learning a lot, from the life of a Roman soldier to how to build a straight road. Do you remember what the name of the implement used is for getting a straight road?
We even had a chance to have a go at being Roman soldiers and forming ranks!
We learnt about the protection that a Roman soldier would need and their formal names. We were impressed by the logical thinking and in depth answers class 9 gave to describe why they would need certain items!
Bryn was transformed from this…
We got to handle some genuine Roman artefacts and examine the intricate details of the Roman coins under a microscope.
Do you think that you could name the jobs we may do?
