Our first topic of the year was 'Blood Heart'. We all had a fantastic time dissecting pig's hearts to discover how they work and finding out what makes up the circulatory system. The journey of the blood to the lungs and then around the body was the basis of a non-chronological report.
We had a go at making our own blood and left it to separate so that we could identify the different layers.
We started off term 2 with a 'Victorian school' morning- this was a complete surprise for the children and they were all very confused when we started with some drill!
They had a go at some Victorian style maths- chanting number facts and times tables, followed by some handwriting, spelling and reading from the bible.
Unfortunately some of the children were unable to behave and so were punished by having the cane and wearing the dunce hat.
