Year Three
Hello from the Year 3 Team!
Welcome to Year 3
Hello and welcome to Year 3, Classes 7 & 8.
The Year 3 class teachers are Mrs Lynch and Mrs Cook in Class 7 and Ms Evans in Class 8. In both classes, we have a number of Teaching Assistants who will be supporting our learning each week in the mornings and afternoons.
In Term 1, our topic is 'Tribal Tales' which includes learning about the Stone Age. Term 2 will be all about Tremors with a focus on volcanoes and earthquakes as well as other natural disasters including tsunamis. 'Gods and Mortals' in Term 3 investigates Ancient Greeks including Greek mythology. Later in the year, we explore rivers around the world including the River Thames and River Nile in Egypt. Our final term focusses on all sorts of foods and emphasises the importance of staying healthy through learning about balanced diets and exercise. In contrast, we will read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as our class text!
To help us celebrate our learning, we hold a 'success' event three times a year where parents/carers can come into school to share in what we have learned. We are also proud to be able to present a Middle Years performance in Term 5. Information on our performance will follow later in the year. It will be wonderful to present our singing and acting skills!
In class, we strive to be our very best and celebrate our achievements in a collaborative, supportive way. In order that we can be successful, we remember our school values which are to navigate, inspire, challenge and succeed.
If you have any questions or queries, please do ask. Please also remember to keep checking our year group page where we will be sharing photos and updates.
Thank you for your support!
Mrs Lynch, Mrs Cook and Ms Evans
